I cannot believe we are so close the first day of summer 2025!

I don’t know about you, but I am already planning my outfits for each session’s theme day - Music Festival, Color Wars, Fourth of July, AND Christmas in July.

Below I break down a little about these special days and what a camper should pack for each one.

1ST SESSION

I’m sure you now know that first session has a new theme this summer! Our nighttime and special programs director, Evan, has put a lot of thought into the Music Festival and we are so excited to see it come to life.

This summer’s Music Festival is all about the 80s, so bring out your neon colors and big hair! Bright leggings, shorts or a skirt, and a slouchy shirt should do the trick. Feel free to accessorize with leg warmers, fanny packs, sweatbands, and more. The more color, the better! Just make sure your outfits are easy to dance in and Skyline appropriate :)

Because this is our first ever Music Festival, you girls get to set the tone for years to come. Go all out to start us off strong!

2ND SESSION

Second session girls, get excited! Color Wars is an absolute blast.

During the day you’ll be protecting one of your counselors from lots of colored powder while completing challenges around camp. A white t-shirt you don’t care about and a pair of black shorts is best for this colorful activity and your swim in the river after.

That night is Cheer Off! Each cabin group is tasked with creating a new cheer or song for their club. Pack some extra club colors and a lot of creativity!

3RD SESSION

This summer, the 4th of July falls on the first Friday of third session, so of course we are going to celebrate! A Skyline 4th of July is always jam packed with fun activities like a parade, Swim Meet, Olympics, fireworks and more.

Obviously girls should deck out in red, white, and blue. Beads, hats or headbands, and fun costumes are highly encouraged.

Both the Olympics and Swim Meet are club competitions. Mounties and Rangers wear their usual red and blue, while Troopers sometimes wear white with pops of green to stay on theme for the day. Be sure to pack an appropirate bathing suit for Swim Meet too!

4TH SESSION

To round out our summer Santa Claus is coming to Camp Skyline! These two weeks are full of the Christmas (in July) spirit!

Santa’s Workshop is Saturday night and girls wear tacky sweaters, fun costumes, or Christmas pajamas while they do various Christmas activities around the gym and tennis courts. We’re also treate to milk, cookies, and a movie! Sunday morning, Hut Row always wakes up to “snow” all around their campfire. Everyone wears their pajamas to the gym where counselors trade Secret Santa gifts, and we hear the Christmas story from a special guest.

A more detailed packing list will be sent out closer to camp with reminders to bring things like your toothbrush and Bible. Until then, start searching for your theme day outfit.

Will you have the brightest Music Festival outfit? How colorful can your Color Wars shirt get? How many American flags can one girl wear? Do you have the tackiest Christmas sweater? I can’t wait to see the answer to all of these questions soon!
