Hi everyone! My name is Alexis and I’ll be bringing you the blog today! I’m so excited to fill y’all in on everything that happened at camp! Today was our first day of activities for our campers and let me tell you, they got settled in quick… and that’s no exaggeration! We already have girls going up in ropes and climbing to the top of the tower like they could do it in their sleep! Our ropes course is full of challenging obstacles to get across and these girls did it so effortlessly - they will look like pros in NO time! Horseback had a pretty laid back day where the girls got to show what they already knew and also learn new things and get more comfotable and confident with it! In cooking they were making CANDY SUSHI which I think the campers enjoyed a lot based off the fact that it’s all I heard girls talking about all day! Mountain Biking went to Laney today which is about a 2 mile ride there and back! Definitely a good warm up for all the exercise they will get this session! In third period Bible Study, Mrs. Frances was teaching from the book “A Kid’s Guide to The Armor of God” written by Tony Evans. The Armor of God is our theme for camp this summer and it comes from Ephesians 6! We’re already seeing bulls-eyes in archery… it’s only the first day!!! I have a strong feeling these girls have so much more talent up their sleeves, and I can’t wait to see it! Our girls in swimming got to BLOB today!!!!!! The blob is always oh so exciting! We also have a Lily Pad over by the dock for girls that choose to swim in the river! It’s safe to say that our girls are getting settled into their activites just fine and we can’t wait for the loads of fun we will have these next two weeks!
A glimpse of Beli Deli!
Our campers always LOVE Beli Deli and I love hearing them go on and on about their favorite Beli Deli treats! It’s such a sweet time for the campers to make new friends, bond with their counselor’s, have a good game of Gaga Ball and have yummy snacks in between activites!
Now onto tonight’s activity… LET’S HEAR IT FOR SOCK WARS!!!!!!!
This night time activity is a club competition and let me tell you it is FULL of energy even after our long and fun day of activites! Our campers compeet alongsode their club members and launch socks at other campers from different clubs and try to get the most points! It’s a lot of fun for the campers and I always look foward to this activity because of how fun it is to watch!
Are you ready for the results?!?!
