Hi everyone! This is Alexis again and I’ll be filling y’all in on what happened around camp today! You could just see the look of anticipation for the Laney Dance on each of the campers faces all day! But I’m getting a little too ahead of myself, so let’s get into activities! The campers have adjusted well into their activities and we’ve seen so much growth over the past couple of days - They have just exceeded our expectations! We have so many gfited and talented campers here at camp! I felt like I was watching an Olympic match of archery as I walked over during first period! They were playing with baloons, which made it even more exciting for the girls! They look like they’ve been doing it for years and years! I was sweating just watching the intense games of pickleball! They were hitting balls left and right and have so much fun with it! Our girls over at tower are racing to the top and boy are they fast! Circus and learning new tricks and looking so good! These campers look like they could do the Superman in their sleep! Set design is still prepping for their performance next Wednesday in musical theatre! They also have a nativity performance they will be including during show time and they are getting the props and clothing ready for that in set design as well! We have some creative campers and I’m so impressed by their designs! I look foward to see it all put together for the show time! Pottery is making some fun creations! Today they were learning different textures and I saw things like pine cones, sponges and more to create a unique texture for their pottery! It was so cool to see all of the campers ideas come to life! Volleyball is still loving the “knockout” game and are playing hard every time I see them! I love to see them campers trying new things and having fun with it! In Sally’s bible study, they were learning all about the breastplate of righteousness from Ephesians 6! In groups, they studied and prepared for tomorrows class where they will each present and give a message on what they learned! Today in CSR they went caving in Pettyjohn’s Cave! Tomorrow is a survival class where they will learn how to make hypothermia kits and all of the different knots used for rigging the rapels! On Monday they will spend all day underground in Howard’s Waterfall Cave!

Prep for the Laney Dance!

The campers got the tennis courts ready for the Laney Dance by writing and drawing with chalk! This is something the campers always do before the Laney boys arrival and it’s always so fun to see what they come up with!

THE HORSESHOE WAS FOUND TODAY!!!!!!

Right when the bell rang at 6:00, we heard the cheers and chants from the Mounties as they made their way to the bell to ring it in celebration for finding the horseshoe!!!

The Laney Dance was a success! The theme was HOMETOWN THROWDOWN and our campers went all out in their gear that best represents their hometown! The campers had a great time mingling and dancing to all of the fun songs that were played! From slow dances to fun songs the campers NEVER stopped dancing! We played a “name game” where we would call a campers name and they had to get paired with another camper to slow dance! It was so fun! We had so many campers asking for their names to be called, haha! Safe to say that Third Session’s Laney Dance went great!
