Skyline means friendships, connections, and growth to me. I have been working at Camp Skyline since 2013. I started as a counselor, working all summer and completing my college internship. In 2014, I worked in the Summer as an extra Admin and received a full-time job at the end of that summer. I worked closely with all of our Programs as the Program Director from 2015-2022 and became the Summer Director after that.
Over the last 12 summers, I have met some of my closest friends, made many connections, and watched others grow during their time at camp. When I started working as an Admin in 2014, I met two of my closest friends at camp, Sarah Kate and Katie, we worked on Admin staff together for many years, and after marriages, babies, and moves, we are still super close to this day and see each other when we can. I am so blessed that Skyline brought us together many years ago.
Having the opportunity over the last 12 summers to watch girls make connections and the growth they have had while at camp for two weeks has been incredible. I have now gotten to watch girls start at camp at age six and later become counselors on staff. Seeing these girls grow closer to God, gain lifelong friendships, and learn things at camp has made me so thankful for Skyline.
Not only have I gotten to experience seeing other girls grow at camp over the years, but I have also had personal growth over twelve years of working here. Completing my college internship here, I had the opportunity to learn from some of the best directors that I worked under. As I took the role of Program Director, I had the chance to work alongside some great women who supported me through those years.
I have built my family here at camp, getting married and enjoying that special time with many camp friends around me. I have become a mom while working at camp, Lola Kate loves growing up here and being surrounded by all of the campers and counselors during the summertime. Soon I will have another little girl that gets to grow up here as well.
Having support from bosses who go above and beyond, who trust me, and who had faith in me to become the Summer Director has been incredible. They have taught me many leadership skills over the years. These are just a few things that come to mind when I think about what is Skyline to me.
Summer Director. Wife to Brett. Mom to Lola Kate. Jsu grad. Quality time is my love language. Always ready for adventure. Loud and proud.
