Lee Ann started her years as a Skyline girl in 1976. She was a camper for 7 years and even sent her girls, Nancy, Katherine and Camille to Skyline. She is a Ranger born and bread and her love of camp is contagious. As a past Skyline Foundation board member, Lee Ann has helped select young girls to attend camp who otherwise couldn’t afford it. Please read more about Lee Ann below…
What makes Skyline special?
The bonds of friendship are what makes Skyline so special to me. I was a camper back in the 70’s and 80’s. Today, I still keep in contact and visit with camp friends that I first met 48 years ago! We are all still the “camper girl”now just a little older and wiser; and always ready for an adventure!
What is your favorite camp memory?
I can’t pick one camp favorite memory! To name a few…
What life skill did your learn at Skyline?
The life skill I learned at Skyline was confidence. Camp teaches girls confidence to meet new people, try new activities, and learn “who they are”. It helps her step out of her comfort zone. She will learn to make decisions.
How has Skyline’s mission statement, “Enriching young girls in God, relationships and self”, impacted your life?
As a former camper and the mother of 3 girls that attended Camp Skyline, I have seen personally how Skyline povides a nurturing environment where girls can grow spiritually, deepening their relationships with God through nightly Campfire devotion, Morning Watch devotion, Bible Study, and Sunday worship service. Camp fosters strong conections with friends, promoting teamwork, healthy competition, and communication. Skyline empowers girls to discover and develop their individual strenghts, boosting their self-esteem. Through a variety of activities Camp Skyline helps girls build a foundation of faith, personal growth, and lasting relationships.
As a Skyline Hero, what advice do you give college students interested in your field?
Always keep an open mind, embrace change, and try new things.
Lee Ann is neat lady with a deep love for what camps provide for all children.
I’ve been fortunate to be a camper with Lee Ann and Camp Mom to her girls. Each of them has a special love for camp and will always be able to call it HOME. Make sure to attend the 80th Reunion October 2-4, 2026 to rekindle friendships with your Skyline sisters.
