To wrap up our Thankful for series, I could not imagine a better way to share all the love I have for Camp Skyline, than to share with you all some of my story and why I have been, and always will be, thankful for Camp Skyline Ranch for girls.

Camp has given me everything, so I’ll do my best to give Skyline the grateful and humbled spirit it deserves. To sum it up (which is terribly difficult), camp has given me a closer relationship with the Lord, unwavering friendships, amazing memories, the ability to conquer my fears, positive christian influences and counsel, the ability to prioritize and set boundaries, and overall - the best version of myself.

Co-JCs turned Admin & Encourager!

I am so thankful for camp helping me build the foundation of a closer relationship with the Lord. Being surrounded by like-minded girls without the distractions we face daily truly gave me the ability to separate myself from the world anywhere I am, and meet Jesus on the ‘mountain’ whether at Skyline over the years or metaphorically in my quiet times.

I’m extremely grateful for the unwavering friendships camp has given me. Every single girl I’ve known from camp, are the kind of friends you can jump right back in to being open with, feeling supported by, and always understand me for me. I am so grateful for so many of our amazing alumni, current counselors, counselors I had, campers with me, and every single person who spent time on the mountain alongside me at any point. It is always so comfortable to spend time with a camp friend!

The amazing memories, all the belly-laughing, and the most fun oppotunities to be silly are such fun things to reflect on why I am so thankful for Skyline.

Only took 12 years...!

Conquering fears at Camp Skyline is undoubtedly one of the best gifts I could’ve received. I still do this everyday, and remember always having opportunities to do so. After 12 years as a camper, I did the zipline. I did not encounter horses except taking horseback riding as a camper.. as a counselor I worked in the barn and absolutely learned so much about horses, safety, instructing, and more. Every year I feel I found so many ways to do it. Even signing up for actitivies I never would’ve thought I’d enjoy, like ropes course and circus as someone with sweaty palms at the word ‘heights’. I am so thankful for all the memories of setting goals, challenging myself, and feeling supported and capable at Camp Skyline.

Camp friends are the best friends!

Camp Skyline also gave me positive christian influences and counsel, the opportunity to prioritize activities, and setting boundaries for myself with rest and fun.

I’m so thankful for Camp Skyline giving me overall - the best version of myself. As a now alumni-turned-admin, I am so lucky to call Camp Skyline home. I am so thankful to be sharing my story, my love for camp, and helping facilitate the same adoration for current and future counselors and campers. I have the best job in the world, and I wish every single one of you find the same satisfaction with your everyday life, calling, and feel challenged to find some of these things inside yourself everyday.

To all my co-counselors, camp friends, and Skyline girls… we are so thankful for you! Camp Skyline, I am lucky to be able to share how thankful I am for you, and true to you I’ll always be.
