This last summer we offered photography as a new class and we are so excited to improve upon it this summer. Campers ranging in grades 5th-11th enjoyed learning how to use their personal camera and edit the images they captured. We kept these classes to a minimum of 6 campers so that these girls could get quality one on one time with the instructor. Campers explored camp capturing images of nature, campers in action and also portrait style images. After taking these pictures they were taught how to edit these images using Lightroom. I loved getting to walk around camp and watch each photography class head to ropes and capture the thrill of other campers going off the v-swing. Sign ups for photography classes are now open for campers grades 5th-11th.
Most all campers enjoy taking cooking as an activity at camp. This class is divided into age groups and we offer a Cooking 1 for grades 1st-6th and Cooking 2 grades 7th-11th. Campers learn a various of skills in these classes. Cooking is a hands on activity where campers are learning to slice ingredients for a recipe, measure out the right amount of an item to add to the recipe and also follow directions. Sometimes this is the first opportunity for a camper to be in a kitchen helping others, working as a team for one goal.
