Happy Valentine’s Day!
What a great day to celebrate! Whether you give a hug to a friend, a smile to a stranger or a valentine to your sweetie, enjoy this day dedicated to cupid and his arrow. I wish we did this everyday!
As a 1st though 3rd grade teacher, many valentines will be exchanged today. Remember those cute little boxes of candy hearts with the sayings on them such as, “Be Mine” and “xoxo”. And what about the little cards like, “Let’s stick together” with a piece of gum attached to it. If it’s someone really special the big boxes of Russell Stover chocolates are the best. Or you can never go wrong with flowers!
So on this special day I’d live to give to all of you a Valentine Prayer…
I said a Valentine prayer for you
and asked the Lord above
to fill your heart and bless your soul
With the precious gift of love.
I asked Him for sincere love
The kind that’s meant to stay
Just like the generous love
You give to those you touch each day.
I prayed for love from family
And from every cherished friend
Then I asked the Lord to give you
His love that knows no end.

So all of you who read this, go out and enjoy this day of love. One of God’s greatest commandments is to love one another so let’s do that today and everyday. And remember…He loves you!!
