Recent research has determined that kids and teens spend an average of about 7 hours a day looking at a screen. In a generation that is consistently immersed in technology, summer camp is a great place for kids to “unplug” and just enjoy being a kid!
While there are many benefits to an overnight summer camp in general, there is just something special about an all-girl camp experience!
The pressures of home and school life melt away. Young girls can enjoy being kids and have fun with their friends.
There is no need to fix up or “look the part”, everyone looks the same in their t-shirts, shorts and ponytails and they don’t give it another thought!
Young girls can become more confident women by pushing themselves out of their comfort zones and trying new things.
Lots of independence comes with camp from picking their own activities, to what they will eat and even what they will wear that day.
Being “unplugged” means being able to have those face to face interactions that make for healthy, long-lasting friendships.
It is a beautiful thing to watch girls that were campers together become counselors together and then go on to be roommates in college. Camp friends truly are lifelong friends!
